| London 2012 ticket holders can benefit from a range of special
travel tickets for the Games. Depending on which venue you are
visiting, there are a number of ticket options available for
different types of travel. Where possible, plan and book your
travel in advance. The Games Travelcard will entitle you to travel
within zones 1-9 on the London public transport network throughout
the day of your event. This includes London Underground (Tube),
London Overground rail, Docklands Light Railway (DLR), buses, trams
and national rail services - but not the Heathrow, Stansted or
Gatwick Express trains or taxis and private hire vehicles.
Spectators will also be able to use their Games Travelcard on the
Javelin service between St. Pancras and Stratford International
stations. |

Spectators with tickets for Games events at Brands Hatch, Eton
Dorney, the Lee Valley White Water Centre and Hadleigh Farm will
receive a Games Travelcard for use on public transport in London on
the day of their event. Spectators will also be able to use their
Games Travelcard to travel by national rail between London and the
recommended stations for those venues. No additional fare will be
payable.
London 2012 ticket holders for events at co-Host City venues
will not receive a Games Travelcard to use on public transport.
These venues are: Weymouth and Portland; the City of Coventry
Stadium, Coventry; Old Trafford, Manchester; Millennium Stadium,
Cardiff; Hampden Park, Glasgow; and, St James' Park, Newcastle.
Spectators with tickets for sporting events at these venues will be
able to book travel from around the UK on any of the additional
Games services.
General advice about travelling during the
Games:
- To make journeys easier, try to avoid changing trains as far as
possible.
- The Jubilee line and London Bridge Underground and national
rail station will be very busy. Where possible try to avoid if you
can.
- Avoid changing onto the Central line, particularly within
central London (Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road,
Holborn, Bank, Mile End and Liverpool Street stations).
- Avoid changing at Canning Town, Canada Water, Bank, Oxford
Circus and Tottenham Court Road stations as they will be very
busy.
- From West Ham station, walk along The Greenway to the Olympic
Park. Avoid changing to or from the Jubilee line or DLR here.
- Plan and book early. There will be the opportunity for ticket
holders to organize their journeys before the Games.

Location: Situated near London City Airport in
east London's Royal Victoria Dock.
Getting There: ExCeL is easy to reach using the
Docklands Light Railway (DLR), which provides access to the venue
from both the Olympic Park and central London. ExCeL is on the
Beckton and Woolwich Arsenal DLR lines. The venue can be reached
from Bank or Tower Gateway stations in central London, on the
Woolwich Arsenal or Beckton lines. Spectators should arrive at
Custom House (on the Beckton line) or West Silvertown (on the
Woolwich Arsenal line) and depart from Prince Regent or Pontoon
Dock station.

Location: Greenwich Park is on the south bank
of the River Thames in south east London. It is a great place to
see views of central London and the Docklands.
Getting There: There are two National Rail

Kent, with connections from the rest of the National Rail network.
Trains to Greenwich and Blackheath leave from London Charing Cross
or London Cannon Street. Trains to Blackheath also leave from

Location: Sits on the point of the Greenwich
peninsula, right on the Meridian Line. It is just across the Thames

London Underground using the Jubilee line from central London.
National Rail services run to Charlton, which is an eight-minute
shuttle-bus journey from the venue. The venue can also be reached
using the river service on the River Thames. North Greenwich Arena
can be accessed by National Rail services to Charlton station. The
station has direct services from London Charing Cross, London
