- Saint-Denis: is located in the northern
suburbs of Paris and is located 5.8 miles from the centre of Paris.
Saint-Denis is home to the Basilica of Saint Denis and was also the
location of the associated abbey. It is also home to France's
national stadium, the Stade de France, which was built for the 1998
FIFA World Cup and will host several EURO 2016 matches.
- Marseille: is the second largest city in
France, after Paris. The urban area and metropolitan area of
Marseille extends well beyond the city limits with a total
population of around 1.6 million. Located on the southeast coast of
France, Marseille is France's largest city on the Mediterranean
coast and the largest French commercial port.
- Lyon: is a city in east-central France in the
Rhône-Alpes region, situated between Paris and Marseille. The city
is known for its historical and architectural landmarks and is a
UNESCO World Heritage Site. Lyon was historically known as an
important area for the production and weaving of silk and in modern
times has developed a reputation as the capital of gastronomy in
France.
- Paris: is the capital and largest city of
France. It is situated on the river Seine, in northern France, at
the heart of the Île-de-France region. An important settlement for
more than two millennia, Paris had become, by the 12th century, one
of Europe's foremost centers of learning and the arts and the
largest city in the Western world until the 18th century. Today
Paris is one of the world's leading business and cultural centers
and its influences in politics, education, entertainment, media,
science, and the arts all contribute to its status as one of the
world's major global cities.
- Lille: is the largest city of the French
Flanders in northern France. It is the principal city of the Lille
Métropole, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the country
behind those of Paris, Lyon and Marseille. Lille is situated on the
Deûle River, near France's border with Belgium.
- Lens: is a small city in the Pas-de-Calais
department in northern France. It is one of France's large Picarde
cities and forms the metropolitan area of Douai-Lens, whose
population is over 500,000.
- Bordeaux: is a port city on the Garonne River
in the Gironde department in southwestern France. The Bordeaux
metropolitan area has a population of 1,105,000 and constitutes the
sixth-largest urban area in France. It is the capital of the
Aquitaine region, as well as the prefecture of the Gironde
department. Its inhabitants are called Bordelais and Bordeaux is
the world's major wine industry capital.
- Saint-Etienne: is a city in eastern central
France. It is located in the Massif Central, 40 miles southwest of
Lyon in the Rhône-Alpes region, along the trunk road that connects
Toulouse with Lyon.
- Toulouse: is a city in the Haute-Garonne
department in southwestern France. It lies on the banks of the
River Garonne, halfway between the Atlantic Ocean and the
Mediterranean Sea. With 1,202,889 inhabitants the Toulouse
metropolitan area is the fourth-largest in France, after Paris,
Lyon, and Marseille. Toulouse is the centre of the European
aerospace industry.
- Nice: is the fifth most populous city in
France, after Paris, Marseille, Lyon and Toulouse, with a
population of 348,721 within its administrative. The urban area of
Nice extends beyond the administrative city limits with a
population of about 1 million. Located on the south east coast of
France on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice is the second-largest French
city on the Mediterranean coast after Marseille.
