NFC East Conference

The Washington Redskins, year to year, are contenders in the NFC East. One of the leagues most popular and toughest divisions every year, the NFC East also consists of the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles, and 2007 World Champions New York Giants. Each pairing of teams in this division is considered a big rivalry; however none is bigger with the fans or the players than the Redskins vs Cowboys. No division in the NFL has had more Super Bowl appearances (19) or Super Bowl wins (11). These 4 powerhouses have all at least won three NFL Championships/Super Bowls. In 2006 and 2007 the NFC East has sent 3 teams to the playoffs in each year, including the 2007 New York Giants who won Super Bowl XLII as a Wild Card.

History of the Washington Redskins

One of the NFLs most storied franchise, the Washington Redskins have quite a bit of history that took them from their beginning in 1932 as the Boston Braves to present days Washington Redskins. George Preston Marshall was the first owner of the Redskins franchise and moved them from Bostons Fenway Park to Griffith Stadium in the Nations Capitol in 1937 due to a lack of fan support, which is the last problem they have to present as they have set a new NFL single season attendance record in each of the last 6 years. The Washington Redskins first star player was quarterback Slingin Sammy Baugh who also played cornerback, and punter as he led the team to success which made the team popular to the Washington DC area. In 1961 the Redskins moved into their new home DC Stadium which would later be changed in 1969 to R.F.K. Stadium. This would become the scene for 35 years of Redskins football that includes 3 Super Bowl wins (in 5 appearances) under Hall of Fame Coach Joe Gibbs using three different quarterbacks. Known to be one of the loudest stadiums in the league RFK Stadium would physically shake as the bleachers would jump up and down, especially for big games such as against the hated Dallas Cowboys. This was noticeable as ever during the 1983 NFC Championship Game when the Redskins beat the Cowboys 31-17 to advance to Super Bowl XVII as well as the final game ever played at RFK on December 22, 1996 when they beat the Dallas Cowboys again by a final score of 37-10 to end a historic era in Redskins history.

Redskins Today

Starting in 1997 the Washington Redskins moved to their current stadium located in Landover, Maryland. Named for the teams owner Jack Cent Cooke Stadium opened in August of 1997, a few months after the teams long time owner past away. Cookes sons owned the team until they sold it to current owner Daniel Snyder who changed the name of the NFLs biggest stadium to FedEx Field, added seats, increased the fan experience, as well as making it the one of the NFLs most valuable franchises. Since FedEx Field opened the Redskins have made the playoffs three times including the recent 2007 season. Last year will stay in the minds of the Redskins faithful as it was like no other season.

The Redskins rallied to win 4 of their last 5 games to make the playoffs as a wild card after losing the extremely talented Sean Taylor to a tragic death. Coach Joe Gibbs showed why he is in the Hall of Fame as he led the team back to the playoffs for the second time in three years where they would lose to the Seahawks in Seattle and that would mark an end to the Joe Gibbs Comeback which lasted 4 years. However, after making the playoffs with a young, talented team, there is a lot of promise ahead for the Washington Redskins as they have hired offensive minded Jim Zorn to be the storied franchises 27th head coach.

FedEx Field Redskins Tickets

FedEx Field

Located in Landover, FedEx Field is exactly 5 miles east of RFK Stadium. Known as one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL, FedEx Field offers a great fan experience whether you are attending your first game, a preseason game, or a big division game. Over 90,000 excited fans pack the 7 different levels of the Redskins home stadium for every game making it one of the toughest NFL tickets in all of sports with a 30 year waiting list to back it up.

The 100 level at FedEx Field is one of the more popular levels as the Redskins Tickets located here gets you close to the action with great lines of sight whether you are on the 20 yard line or in the endzone. This is the place to be to hear the excitement when the Redskins punishing defense is on the field.

In front of the 100 level are three rows of premium seats called the "Dream Seats." These premium Washington Redskins tickets get you as close to the action without actually being on the field, and the tickets include access to the premier 3rd floor Joe Gibbs Club Level as well as free soda, hot dogs, and peanuts.

Behind the 100 level is the 200 level which is on the same concourse. As you enter the stadium seating you can either go downstairs to the 100 level and Dream Seats at FedEx Field, or up a few steps to the smaller 200 level. These limited number of 200 level Redskins Tickets give you a slightly higher view point while staying in the lower level of Fedex Field at Redskins games. This is where you have the best chance to be under cover without purchasing a suite or loge level ticket. However, recent seat additions has added obstructed views to the 200 level on the visitors side making anything above row less desirable. Great Atlantic Travel does not, nor will not have any of these obstructed view Redskins tickets.

The third level of seating, which is the yellow level of seats, is the premium Joe Gibbs Club Level. These 300 level sections include wider seats, waiter service, and access to the luxurious indoor Club Level featuring a Hooters restaurant, cigar bar and lounge, food courts, 4 bars, Redskins gift shops, and 100s of flat screen TVs and sofas.

Above the Joe Gibbs Club Level are 2 separate premium Loge Levels which include premium Redskins seating in a climate controlled luxury box environment with open window seating on the Suite levels and private escalators and elevators. Seats are padded with leather and have in-seat waiter service, a great view of the game, over 400 TVs, as well as having access to the Joe Gibbs Club Level.

The next and final concourse features the upper level at FedEx Field. These 400 level sections are the highest seats in the biggest stadium in the league; therefore we suggest the lower level seating for a better view at a Redskins game. The 400 level goes up to row 29 and Great Atlantic Travel will offer the lowest and best seats available tickets at time of booking. Even though these seats are the highest, many fans prefer these seats to get a better view of the entire field.

Redskins Tailgates

There are many activities taking place Pre and Post Redskins NFL Games which provide the Best Washington Redskins fan experience at FedEx Field. Great Atlantic Travel also offers the Official Redskins Tailgate Party that includes all-you-can eat food and beverages, TVs showing the pregame shows, cheerleader and Redskins alumni autograph sessions, football competitions, X-Box stations, raffle for memorabilia, and much more. You also cant miss the Redskins Marching Band circling FedEx Field before the
Redskins Tailgate

game as well as the pre and post game concerts by the stadium gates and the Joe Gibbs Club Level. Be there in person and see for yourself why a Redskins home game at FedEx Field is one of the most popular experiences in sports!
