The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be staged at 10 Venues across nine exciting South African cities in various parts of the country - Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Durban, Nelspruit, Port Elizabeth, Polokwane, Pretoria, Rustenburg, and Johannesburg, South Africa's economic capital, which has 2 stadiums - Soccer City and Ellis Park.

Located in the central part of South Africa, Bloemfontein the capital city of the Free State Province, has the laid-back, friendly vibe of a country town. Still, it's a party place, thanks to a healthy student population and numerous sports clubs and bars. It is full of culture and history, reflected by its rich architectural heritage, numerous museums and monuments. Bloemfontein is an active town, and sports are high on the priority list of the majority of residents. Hanging with the locals is a must, because people here still believe in old-fashioned hospitality and are a unique blend of rural tranquility and vibrant city life.

As South Africa's oldest city, Cape Town carries the title of the "Mother City" and is ready to show off her fantastic cosmopolitan lifestyle and incredible beauty. Located on the southwest corner of the country, Cape Town is the home of a multicultural population of 4.6 million and is by far the cosmopolitan centre, first city of fashion, hub of adventure, culinary leader, the base for a rich and multi-stranded heritage and the location of hallowed grounds of sports. As South Africas oldest city, Durban is South Africa's most popular holiday spot and it's easy to see why. Located on the warm Indian Ocean on South Africa's east coast, Durban has miles of soft sand, fantastic swimming beaches, great surfing, top game reserves, and warm weather year round. Also referred to as "Surf City" life in Durban is similar to one long, enjoyable holiday. Durban has a history of hosting major sporting events and has excellent urban vibes including a mix of design, art, music and food along with fascinating cultural influences. There is a good chance that with all of the attractions, you may never run out of things do to.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup kicks off in South Africa's financial powerhouse, Johannesburg. Jozi, Joburg or Egoli to locals, Johannesburg is Africa's most cosmopolitan city - the only place where you will hear all 11 official languages. Out of this comes an embracing, vibrant melting pot of humanity that ensures you won't walk alone when exploring the city's many cultural and leisure attractions; they'll also be right there when you're cheering on the winning football team. Johannesburg is one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world with just over three million people and has two World Cup Stadiums.

Located in the north-east corner of the country, Nelspruit is the capital of Mpumalanga, South Africa's newest and fastest growing province. The city is an excellent base from which to explore the regions hotspot's like the world-famous Kruger National Park, the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and neighboring Maputo, capital of Mozambique. Set in the hot and lush Crocodile River valley, Nelspruit has a subtropical climate. Getting to the town is easy as there are daily train services to Gauteng as well as flights to and from Johannesburg and Durban.

Located at the north tip of South Africa, Polokwane is regarded as the gateway to the north. The capital of the Limpopo province, Polokwane is a friendly, fast-developing city with a vibrant mix of people and culture, and is a stepping stone to the provinces legendary mountain hotspots. The urban centre features shops, galleries, museums and parks, while on the outskirts you'll find Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, a pulsating African-style entertainment venue. Polokwane International Airport serves as a gateway to the continent, so it's great to get to and from during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Port Elizabeth, otherwise known as the "friendly city" or PE, is South Africa's fifth largest city and quite an undiscovered gem, thanks to its undeveloped coastline. Port Elizabeth is a sporting hotspot and is home to some of the countrys top cricket and rugby grounds; it also houses world-class golf courses. With its temperate waters, the city is ideal for water sports, sailing and diving enthusiasts. PE is worth visiting for its surrounding attractions too...you can arrange day trips to game lodges, the Addo Elephant National Park, the cultural hub of Grahamstown and to Jeffrey's Bay, famous for its impressive scenery and surfing.

Located in the north part of the country, Pretoria is the political and diplomatic hub of Gauteng province and is situated an hours drive north of Johannesburg. Pretoria is a multicultural city, with a decidedly international flair. The city is home to embassies from the Americas, Europe and Asia and restaurants abound to suit every cosmopolitan taste. Pretoria is also a student town (Hatfield) and boasts a youthful exuberance. It's abuzz with music venues, hip coffee shops and cocktail bars. You can also find one of the largest shopping centers in Africa at the sprawling Menlyn shopping centre just a little east.

Translated as "town of rest", tranquil Rustenburg, lies in the western foothills of the beautiful Magaliesburg Mountains of the North West province. Rustenburg operates at a slower pace than the buzzing metropolis of neighboring Johannesburg. It serves a large and booming platinum mining industry and a farming community. One of the country's oldest cities, Rustenburg is steeped in history. Within easy distance of its borders, you can encounter both modern-day and ancient attractions appealing to diverse interests. Of course, Rustenburg will have plenty going on during the madness of the FIFA 2010 World Cup.
